Using lyrics by Neil Young as inspiration for a script, I have designed a sketch for a short film. Researching is one of the things that makes me so passionate about design. With this project, I looked into the meaning of what Neil Young was trying to say with this song.

The main character of the story is a young boy who is blind, he discovers a new purpose within how he looks at his life through an emotional connection to an elderly man..."who is lying by the side of the road", also blind and nearing his death. Both characters in my story behaviours change when they meet each other, each receiving a sense of enlightenment. In the turning point of my story, a boy passes through a cluttered world with a sincere, fun youthfulness, he is full of life. With inspiration drawn from how my younger brother looks at life, I was able to understand and appreciate that as we get older we tend to overcomplicate and beat down our current situation.

My feelings and research highlighting the dystopian future taken from listening to an Annie Lennox version of the song, you begin to feel different emotions. Sometimes we can be too late in thinking of the right thing to do, usually, only at the time of our mortality. We attempt to turn actions right or to 'turn it around'. As we grow older we start to reflect on these thoughts through the experience of a loved one dying.
Throughout the boy's heightened senses and imagination, we are taken down a fantasy path with subliminal morals.
